Baltimore author Sujata Massey is the author of ten award-winning mystery novels.  Her latest book is a sprawling, expansive tale that traces the amazing life of an orphaned girl in India, from a cyclone in her Bengali village in the 1930s, to adulthood in Calcutta as India struggles to end the imperial rule of Britain in the midst of the Second World War.  It’s called The Sleeping Dictionary.

You can read an excerpt of The Sleeping Dictionary, see pictures of Old Calcutta, and learn about the book here.
