Bass clarinetist Todd Marcus is celebrating his 10th anniversary of playing jazz in Baltimore. His most recent album is Inheritance, which NPR named one of the top ten jazz albums of 2012. The record explores the sounds of the Middle East.

Tom Hall talks to Todd Marcus about the bass clarinet, working with a big ensemble, and doing community work in Sandtown-Winchester, home to Baltimore's jazz legacy on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Todd Marcus plays An Die Musik tonight: two sets, one at 8:00, one at 9:30. You can buy tickets here.
