While video games still carry the stigma of being brain-rotting time-wasters, studies show that games improve brain function and keep aging minds from slipping into dementia.  Our guest: Dr. John Krakauer, a Johns Hopkins professor of neurology and neuroscience, and the director of the Brain, Learning, Animation and Movement Laboratory, or BLAM-Lab. His lab is one of many that explore the use of games in improving brain function. Also: Dr. Majid Fotuhi, a Maryland clinical neurologist whose Columbia clinic has been using video games in research. Fotuhi is the author of Boost Your Brain: The New Art and Science Behind Enhanced Brain Performance.
