To better understand how climate change effects the planet, scientists are turning to phenology, the study of when species arrive and depart as the seasons change. We talk with biologist Sam Droege from the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, who helps coordinate the North American Bird Phenology Program; and Jake Weltzin, executive director of the USA National Phenology Network, which collects statistics for plants and animals across the country.
